Carol Ann Majewski (Dall), 74, formerly of Westford, passed away January 3, 2010, after a courageous 23-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was the beloved wife of the late Ted Majewski, who passed away August 17, 2009. Carol was born April 28, 1935 in Worcester Massachusetts, the daughter of Mary A. (MacDonald) and Jensenius S. Dall. She resided in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts until her marriage. Carol graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1953, and continued her education at Becker Junior College in Worcester, receiving an Associates Degree in Medical Secretarial in 1955. She was employed by Dr. Oscar Feinsilver, as a medical secretary, until 1965.
Carol was a popular girl with many friends, including her dearest and lifelong friends, Ann (Joudrey) Wilcox, Nancy (Reynolds) Valentine and Diane (Weagle) Newton. Growing up, she enjoyed going to stock car races with her father, bowling, and horseback riding. She was a beautiful piano player and loved going to classical music concerts. As a young woman, skiing at Mount Snow in Vermont and dancing were some of her favorite pastimes. Carol and her friend Ann traveled extensively.
Carol met her beloved “diamond in the rough," Ted, while dancing at the SAC Park in Worcester. They married October 10, 1964, making their first home in Marlborough and moving to Westford, Massachusetts in 1965. Carol and Ted raised three daughters, who kept them quite busy and on their feet. As a family, they enjoyed skiing and hiking, as well as camping at Walnut Grove Campground in Alfred, Maine and later Apple Valley Campground in Acton, Maine. Later in life, Carol and Ted fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Denmark to visit relatives.
Carol was employed for many years by the Westford Public Schools, as a kindergarten aide - a job she adored in addition to being a mother. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, she continued to do the things she loved and faced the disease with a truly positive and brave attitude. None of this could have been possible without the love and support of her wonderful husband and children. After entering the Life Care Center in Littleton, Massachusetts in 2005, she and Ted continued to enjoy life, making many day trips together all over New England and spending time with family and friends.
Carol was one of the most patient, kind and dignified individuals that anyone could have ever known, and her loss is shattering to us all. Admired as a wife, mother, grandmothe and friend, she is fondly remembered for her warmth and kindness to everyone.
Carol is survived by her daughters and a grandchild: Christine Sullivan and her husband Michael and their son Tyler of Temple, NH; Anmarie Hagg and her husband Cletus of San Quirino, Italy; Cynthia Ryder and her husband Warren of Shirley, MA. She is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Ted. She is also survived by many loving sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley for their compassion, caregiving and kindness. |
