Robert Newton, 97, of Westford, beloved husband of the late Ruth (Taylor) Newton died January 6, 2010 in Lowell. He was born in Keighley, England April 21, 1912, a son of the late William Newton and the late Alice (Bradwell) Newton. Prior to his retirement, he was a technician at Raytheon. Mr. Newton was a Third Degree and 32nd Degree Mason and past Master affiliated with the Tahattawan Lodge in Littleton. He enjoyed all card games and ran the Bowling League at the Cameron Senior Center in Westford. He is survived by his daughter, Doris Lindsay of Nashua, NH, his brother Norman Newton, eight grandchildren; Kim Daniels, Jim Sullivan, Steven Sullivan, Paul Sullivan, Christopher Lindsay, Jennifer Callahan, Brian Newton, Rebecca Wilhite and seventeen great grandchildren. He was the father of David Newton and Brenda (Newton) Sullivan, who pre-deceased him.
