  Obituary:
Charles Stillman Fitch, 77, beloved husband of Constance Elsie (Petterson) Fitch died May 2nd at his home in Ayer, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 5, 1932, a son of the late Andrew C. Fitch and Edith G. (Cambridge) Fitch. He was a graduate of the New England Institute, Class of 1955. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1953 as an Airman in the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner and operator of the H.L. Farmer Funeral Home in Ayer for twenty-five years and was affiliated with the Healy Funeral Home for the past twenty years. An avid sportsman, he was a member of the Townsend Sportsmen’s Club and Past President of the Ayer Rod and Gun Club. Always active in the community, Charlie was a member of the Fitchburg-Leominster Shrine Club, Norbeagro Encampment #70, the Boylston Lodge AF & AM, the Caleb Butler Lodge AF & AM, Lowell Lodge of Perfection, Lowell Council Prince of Jerusalem, Mt. Calvery Rose Croix, Mass Consistory 32 Degree, Aleppo Temple, Boston, W.P. Ida McKinley Chapter #86 O.E.S. Master, Ayer Grange #200, Fredonian Lodge IOOF, and the Mary A. Livermore Rebekah Lodge. An antique car aficionado, he was a member of the Yankee Ingenue”T”s of Townsend, MA. Besides his wife of 53 years, Charlie is survived by his daughters; Mrs. Heidi Ferguson and her husband Harold of Hanover, ME, Ms Connie MacKinnon of Ayer, MA, Mrs. Audrey Hanna and her husband Robert of Ashby, MA, eight grandchildren; Elisabeth Ferguson of Houston, TX, Daniel Ferguson of Auburn, ME, Angela, Andrew and Amanda MacKinnon of Ayer, MA and Allison, Robert and Matthew Hanna of Ashby, MA, a sister, Mrs. Betty Pletschke of Leominster, and a brother John C, Fitch of Farmington, N.H. He was the brother of George A. Fitch and Richard W. Fitch, who pre-deceased him.
  Visitations:  
Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 6th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Healy Funeral Home.
  Services:  
His funeral service will take place Friday, May 7th at the Healy Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m.
