| Obituary: Mary Katherine McGlinchey, of 33 Tadmuck Road, Westford, MA, born in Lowell, MA on April 2, 1926 passed away on June 18, 2010. Kae and her late husband Richard Lawrence McGlinchey were blessed with five children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Karen and husband Paul Foss live in Franconia, NH with their two sons, John W. and Alexander S.; Susan (deceased) and her husband Garry Roy shared a home in Bartlett, NH with their children Scott and Anne Marie; L. Michael and his wife Jeanine (Lorrain) reside in Charlotte, NC, as do their daughter Sarah with her husband Thomas Cloos and their two children, Leah and Kelly; William and his wife Nancy (Deane; deceased) of Weare, NH; and Regina and her partner Keith Bohne of Westford, MA. Kae was the eldest daughter of Anne (Spead) and William Shea, life-long residents of Lowell MA, and is survived by her sister Noreen and husband Richard Letts of Los Altos, CA. Kae's younger sister, Elizabeth and her husband Paul Fournier (both deceased) resided in Hudson, NH. Kae devoted her earlier years to raising an energetic family and enjoyed participating in all of their activities, especially tennis, swimming and skiing. She and her family were long-time members of the Chelmsford Swim and Tennis Club. Kae and her husband were committed to their children's academic and personal pursuits and remained their most avid supporters and cheerleaders. Kae took an active interest in her husband's civil engineering business as Westford transitioned from a quiet farming community to its current professional suburb. In her later years, she cherished visits from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom were a major source of pride and happiness. Kae also enjoyed her weekly exercise classes at the Westford Senior Center and loved her new life on one of Westford's remaining apple orchards. |
