Obituary:Edna "Sue" Hanson, Age 88, died peacefully at her home in Westford on Monday July 26, 2010. She was born in Westford on May 17, 1922, a daughter of the late Axel Hanson and the late Edna (Gagnon) Hanson and was a life long resident of Westford. She attended Westford schools and was a graduate of Westford Academy and also attended Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing. Edna served in the military in the ANC October 1944 to April 1946 serving in England, Philippines, and Japan. Prior to her retirement in 1980 she worked at the Cutler Army Hospital in Fort Devens for over 35 years. Edna was a lifelong communicant of St. Catherine's Church of Westford. In her leisure time she loved Christmas shopping, (an official elf), traveling, bird watching and especially knitting, and she knitted to the last row! She is survived by 13 nieces, 6 nephews, and several great nieces and nephews, also by her best friend Lana Boucher, and many dear cousins. Edna was predeceased by her siblings Robert A. Hanson, Rene M. Hanson, Carol Champey, Helen June Bankhead, Dwight Hanson, and Judith MacMillan. |

| Services: Her funeral mass will take place on Monday, August 2, at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine's Church 107 North Main Street Westford. Burial to follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery. |
