  RobertFitzpatrick Obituary:
Westford – Robert R. Fitzpatrick, 80, beloved husband of Phyllis (Bergsten) Fitzpatrick and lifelong resident of Westford, died July 23rd in Westford. He was born February 26, 1929 in Westford, a son of the late Frederick Fitzpatrick and the late Frances (Murphy) Fitzpatrick. He attended Westford schools and was a graduate of Westford Academy, Class of 1946, where he excelled in football and baseball. After he graduated from High School, he played baseball for the Lowell Sun Baseball Team. Mr. Fitzpatrick was a member of the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 109th Infantry Regiment where he earned the Army of Occupation Medal and Expert Infantry Badge. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Courier Printing in Westford. He served his community with distinction as a member of the Planning Board for 14 years, a Selectman for two terms and as a Special Police Officer for many years. A Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he was the Current Commander, serving in that capacity numerous times and was a Past State Commander for two terms. In addition, he was a Life Member of the American Legion, Post 159. Mr. Fitzpatrick was an avid hunter and fisherman. Besides his wife Phyllis, he is survived by two sons; Brian Fitzpatrick of Westford, Mark Fitzpatrick and his wife Luci of Townsend, a grandson, Thomas Fitzpatrick and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of Frederick Fitzpatrick, John Fitzpatrick, Marion Mulligan and Mary Smith, all of whom pre-deceased him. Friends may call at the Healy Funeral Home on Sunday, July 26th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, July 27th at 10:00 a. m. at St. Catherine’s Church, 107 N. Main St. Burial to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial contributions in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
