WESTFORD - Alfred "Bob" Capone, age 79, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was the beloved husband of Barbara P. (Quinney) Capone with whom he would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on Dec. 1.He was born in Winchester on October 11, 1938, a son of the late Florence (White) Capone. Bob resided in Westford for 54 years and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959.Earlier in his life, he was employed as a system analyst for Wang, Sanders and Honeywell for many years. In 2013, he retired from Nonwovens, Inc. located in North Chelmsford where he worked for several years. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, trips to the beach, gardening and working in his yard. He was a fan of New England sports and loved nothing more than spending time with his family.Besides his loving wife, Barbara, he is survived by his three children, Brett Capone and his wife, Ani, of Pembroke Pines, FL, Kris Pantanella and her husband, John, of St. Louis, MO, and Tracy Capone of Westford; six grandchildren, Anthony, Vincent, Tori, Jack, Robert and Lia; seven siblings, Barbara Jewell and her husband, Ed, of South Carolina, Dottie Core of Arkansas, Frank Capone and his wife Dolores, Daniel Capone, Louis Capone and his wife, Leona, all of Lowell, Betty Lynch of Meredith, NH and Bill Capone of Lowell; a brother-in-law, Al Johnson of Tyngsboro. He was a brother of the late Delene Johnson.ARRANGEMENTS - At the request of the family, funeral services for Bob will be held privately. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org. Arrangements are in the care of the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., Westford.
