Aline F. Finney

April 29, 1932 — April 15, 2022

Aline F. (Jean) Finney, age 89, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell after a long illness. She was the wife of the late David S. Finney.

She was born in Lowell on April 29, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph Hector and Cecile (Trudell) Jean. She was the wife of late David S. Finney. She was predeceased by her infant son Barry W and several brothers and sisters.

Aline was a devoted stay-at-home mom for several years, before the joining her sister's family business, Lynch Paint Centers in Lowell, Westford and Billerica where she worked in the wallpaper department for many years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Aline was devoted to her faith and her family. She enjoyed spending time with brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends, whether it was at bingo, the casino or just playing cards. She was at her happiest when she could help others. She would often volunteer her time or offer to help "the old people" even when she wasn't very much younger than them. She always made time for her grandchildren and attended many, many celebrations of milestones in their lives.

Aline loved spending time with her family on Sundays and especially on holidays. She talked about growing up in Lowell and how her large family would play cards together every Friday night at her mother's home.

She is survived by her children, David Finney and his wife Carol Sue of Auburn, MA, Michael Finney and his wife Mary of Los Alamos, NM, Carol Litchfield and her husband Larry of Sanbornton, NH, Richard Finney and his wife Sharon of Ashby and Linda Peters and her husband Les of Townsend; four grandchildren, Steven Finney of Ashby, Sean Finney of Gardner, Sara Peters of Worcester, and Andrew Litchfield of Sanbornton, NH; and a great grand-daughter, Lydia Kurowski of Townsend. She also leaves three of her eleven siblings, Martin Jean of Chicago, Illinois, Gertrude Cohen of Chelmsford, and Leon Jean of Dracut and several nieces and nephews.
