Ann (MacKissock) Daly

March 4, 1933 — January 19, 2021

Ann (MacKissock) Daly, wife of the late Leo T. Daly, passed away peacefully at her Westford residence surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. She was 87 years old.

Born in Lowell on March 4, 1933, she was the only daughter of the late Karlene (Greene) MacKissock and Robert MacKissock. Ann grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School before attending Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing. She and Leo were married on October 10, 1954, at the Sacred Heart Parish in Lowell. They moved their family to Westford in 1970. Ann was a registered nurse at St Joseph's Hospital in Lowell before spending many years at the Bedford VA and finally retiring from St. John's Hospital in Lowell in the early 90s.

Ann loved to bake while dancing and singing to the oldies in her kitchen. Her apple pies and "cinnamon things" were a staple at Sunday dinners at Ann and Leo's house. Their favorite time together was always with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends around them. The Daly house was always full of family and friends.

Ann took great pride in knitting socks and afghans for anyone and everyone. She always had a secret stash of yarn, ready for the next project. The Bruins were her team no matter their record. She never missed a game and even enjoyed the re-runs, cheering them on as though she was watching for the first time.

Ann was a faithful communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Westford.
Prior to Leo's passing in June 2020, Ann and Leo celebrated 65 years of marriage together. Together they were survived by their seven children and their spouses; Timothy Daly of Virginia Beach, VA, Cynthia and Carl Herrmann of South Yarmouth, MA, Thomas Daly of Derry, NH, Susan Daly of Westford, MA, Mary and Bernard Meyler of South Yarmouth, MA, Steven and Lorie Daly of Port Orange, FL, Brian Daly and Julie Wilson of Tyngsboro, MA; Twelve grandchildren: Sean Daly, Jason Daly, Erin Mauro, Beth Condley, Christopher Herrmann, Audrey Daly, Katelyn Andreopoulos, Lindsay Lemire, Ben Meyler, Ian Daly, Zachary Lawrence, and Joseph Daly; thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers: the late Douglas MacKissock, of Minnesota, and Robert MacKissock of Virginia; two brothers-in-law: William Daly of Lowell, James (Karen) Daly of Stoneham; and several nieces and nephews.
