Augustine Robert “Gus” Elliott, II, age 92, long-time resident of Florida, most recently Sun City Center, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in Florida. Born on December 24, 1933 in Westford, he was the beloved son of the late Beatrice (Dapkus) and Augustine Elliott, Sr.
Gus attended Westford schools. He proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps with a honorable discharge from both. Gus was the owner of a local animal shelter and Von Oak Kennels. He also worked for Raytheon.
Gus was a devout Catholic and was committed to his faith in God. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Above all he loved his family and his many close friends. He was an avid lover of all animals, especially dogs, which he had many over his lifetime. He loved the ocean and enjoyed many trips to Maine as well.
His survivors include his siblings, Ross Elliott and Francis Elliott; as well as many extended family and friends. He was the brother of the late Matthew Elliott, Catherine Elliott, Joseph Elliott and Ellen Elliott.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gus’ Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 9 AM at BLESSED TRINITY PARISH - ST. CATHERINE OF ALEXANDRIA CHURCH, 107 N Main Street, Westford. Burial and military honors to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gus’ memory to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Operations Smile or Missionaries of Charity.
