Carol Budinger

Apr 12, 1940 — Jul 8, 2026

Westford, MA

Carol Budinger, 86, of Westford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at Bridges in Westford after a long journey with dementia.

Carol was born on April 12, 1940, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Hermann and Ruth Cover. She attended Muskingum College, where she met her future husband, Bo.

Carol was active in her community throughout her life. She served as a district commissioner for the Boy Scouts and ran the Boy Scout Day Camp in Chelmsford for many years. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club and volunteered with Westford’s annual Apple Blossom Parade. She also founded the Red Hat Society chapter “Red Hat and Reddy,” proudly serving as its Queen Mother, and drove for SPNR Transportation, transporting children with special needs to and from school.

Carol had a lifelong love of the British royal family and had followed them since she was a young girl. She also loved British television, particularly Keeping Up Appearances, and those who knew her may have recognized a little of Hyacinth “Bouquet” in her.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Bowman “Bo” Budinger III, and her son, Brian Budinger.

She is survived by her son, Bruce and his wife, Cheryl-Lynn, of Groton, and their children, Katherine and Bruce Jr.; and her daughter, Brenda Weschke and her husband, Thomas, of Witham St Hughs, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom.

A Funeral Service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Westford on Saturday, July 18, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westford.

Memorial donations may be made in Carol’s memory to the American Diabetes Association through its Memorial Gift page.
