WESTFORD - Cherie A, (Erickson) Ashford, age 40, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at her home in Westford surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of John J. Ashford.She was born in Attleboro on August 22, 1976, a daughter of Deborah (Fernald) Erickson of Attleboro and the late Richard Erickson. Cherie was a longtime resident of Westford and a graduate of Westford Academy. She furthered her education at Lincoln Technical Institute where she received her Medical Assistant Certificate. Prior to her illness, she was a nurse's aide and receptionist in the cardiology department at Emerson Hospital in Concord.Cherie enjoyed playing bingo, baking and attending paint nights. Above all, she loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, John and her mother, Deborah, she is survived by her three children, Brandon Ashford and his fiance, Meagan Greenhalgh of Manchester, NH and Brett and Jade Ashford, both of Westford; a brother, Shane Erickson and his wife Carrie of Nashua, NH; two grandchildren, Brison Greenhalgh and Oliver Ashford; her mother-in-law, Cheryl Steinhaus of Pepperell; her father-in-law, Donald Ashford of Westford; a sister-in-law, Angela Hillman of Westford; a brother-in-law, Jeff Hillman of N. Carolina; a dear uncle and aunt, Wayne and Nancy Fernald of Westford; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.ARRANGEMENTS - Family and friends may gather to honor and remember Cherie at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, on Tuesday, June 20 from 4 to 8pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the United Methodist Church of Westford, 10 Church St., Westford. All are asked to please meet at church. Interment will be private.
