Chris M. Johansen, 74, of Westford, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, after an 8-year battle with cancer.
Born in Lowell to Charles M. and Theresa (Faria) Johansen, Chris grew up in Billerica and graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 1970. He worked at Mal’s Department Store, Billerica Motor Parts and Pritchard HVAC Services at Logan Airport before joining Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local 3 as a union bricklayer, earning a 40-year pin.
Chris loved playing guitar in bands and at family gatherings, fishing with family and friends and occasional casino trips. He enjoyed tinkering with many projects in his garage and making balsa wood airplanes for his children and grandchildren. He was kind, generous and always ready to help relatives and friends.
He married his wife, Beverly in 1974, and together they raised three daughters—Charlene, Brenda and Beverly. Chris treasured his family above all, celebrating 51 years of marriage and taking great pride in his daughters and five grandchildren.
Chris is survived by his wife, Beverly of Westford; his daughters, Charlene Nutile and her husband, Anthony of Townsend, Brenda Hoag and her husband, Kenneth of Merrimac and Beverly Calileo and her husband, Robert of Townsend; his grandchildren, Alexander, Julianna, Benjamin, Keegan and Ruby; his brother, John Johansen and his wife, Ellen of Stratham, NH; as well as many loving relatives, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Linda, infant brother, Christian and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to Chris’ Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 4 until 7 PM at the WESTFORD HEALY FUNERAL HOME, 57 N Main Street, Westford. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in BLESSED TRINITY PARISH - ST. CATHERINE OF ALEXANDRIA CHURCH, 107 N Main Street, Westford. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford.
