David W. Crandall, Sr.

July 3, 1969 — January 2, 2025

Tyngsboro

TYNGSBORO – David W. Crandall, Sr., 55, a Tyngsboro resident who was raised in Dunstable where he lived for most of his life before relocating to Tyngsboro, passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, January 2, 2025 following a courageous battle with ALS. He was the beloved husband of Noreen A. (Reardon) Crandall with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. Born in Lowell on July 3, 1969, he was a son of Jon N. Crandall, Sr., and his wife Joan, and Elaine P. (Cormier) Crandall-Burt, and her husband Kenneth Burt.

Dave attended Groton-Dunstable Regional High School and dedicated his career to the operation of Dunstable Forms, Inc., a business founded by his father in the early 1970s. He successfully expanded the business, demonstrating resilience and commitment even throughout the challenges of his illness. His work went beyond construction—he built lasting relationships with customers, neighbors, local businesses and fellow tradespeople, earning a reputation for his integrity and personal touch. Dave’s commitment to quality and his genuine care for the people he worked with left an enduring impact, as the homes he helped create became the foundation for countless families in the Merrimack Valley and beyond.

Dave was an avid fisherman who cherished every moment spent on his boat, particularly on Sokokis Lake in Limerick, Maine. During the winter months, he found joy embarking on long snowmobile rides throughout northern Maine, notably in the Moosehead Lake region.

Central to this vibrant life was Dave’s unwavering celebration of his children’s lives and milestones. His love of music in all its forms became a thread that wove through his family, enriching the lives of his three children and sparking shared memories that would last a lifetime. At the heart of his and Noreen’s life was the warm and welcoming home they created together. Their home became a gathering place for family, friends, and neighbors where celebrations, parties and spontaneous get-togethers were a regular occurrence. Whether it was a summer barbecue, the annual Halloween bash or a simple evening of laughter and storytelling, Dave and Noreen’s home radiated hospitality and joy. These gatherings not only strengthened bonds among loved ones but also fostered a deep sense of community where everyone felt welcomed. Dave’s enthusiasm for bringing people together created countless treasured memories and left a lasting legacy of connection and camaraderie.

In addition to his wife and parents, Dave leaves three children, David W. Crandall, Jr. and his partner Danielle Curran, Katherine Crandall and Elizabeth Crandall; his siblings, Susan Crandall and her husband Ed Gascon, Jon Crandall, Jr. and his wife Patricia, Judy McAuliffe and her husband Sean, Lisa Callery, Patricia Walsh, Wendy Crandall and John Mauriello. Additionally, Dave leaves his wife Noreen’s family, Robert Reardon and his wife Deborah, and Patrick Reardon and his wife Michelle. Dave will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, Godchildren and life-long friends.

He was predeceased by his brother, Roland Crandall, his mother-in-law, Kathleen Reardon, and his brother-in-law, Michael Callery.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Dave’s Life on Monday, January 6, from 4 until 8 PM at the Westford Healy Funeral Home, 57 North Main Street, Westford.
