Denise S. Smith

WESTFORD - Denise S. (Melancon) Smith, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Emerson Hospital in Concord after a brief illness. She was born in Lowell on November 7, 1946, a daughter of the late Paul and Dorianna (Lamy) Melancon. Denise was a lifelong resident of Westford and a communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a special needs driver for the Town of Westford and also for Littleton Limo for many years. Denise loved music and time spent with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Smith and her husband, Lewis Tarbox, her grandson, William Tarbox, a sister, Aline (Melancon) May and her best friend, Barbara (Benoit) Byers. She is also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert Melancon and niece of the late Gerald and Jacqueline (Lamy) Gosselin. ARRANGEMENTS - At her request, there will be no visiting hours. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Monday morning, August 27 at 9 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment to follow at St. Catherine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Westford Ambulance Fund, PO Box 197, Westford, MA 01886.
