Dennis Patrick Kane, Sr., 96, of Forge Village, Westford, passed away in the early evening hours of May 29, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born in Forge Village to the late Lawrence Kane, Sr. and Margaret Orr on December 4, 1929. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Josephine (Pappalardo). Dennis is survived by his daughter, Joanne Belinsky (husband Gary) and son, Dennis Kane, Jr. (wife Suzanne), seven grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher Kane (Emily), Dennis Kane, III (Aprile), Katieann Maly (Justin), Leanne Wilson, Brandon and Brett Fitzgerald, (fiancé Lea Mezzanotte), Justin Belinsky (Lauren), as well as ten great-grandchildren, Caden and Kaylee Wilson, Ava, Addison and Ellie Mae Maly, Dylan and Avery Kane, Mark and Jason Kane and Shea Belinsky and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Dennis lived a long and full life in the Village. He graduated from Westford Academy and later served in the US Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. Dennis then became a Master Electrician and owned and operated Kane Electrical Corporation. He served as volunteer firefighter in Westford and in the Civil Air Patrol out of Hanscom Air Force Base, which was one of his favorite jobs. After retiring from Kane Electrical Corporation, he became a teacher at Minuteman Technical High School in Lexington. Another position he thoroughly enjoyed. He also served many decades as the Electrical Inspector for the Town of Westford.
Dennis met the love of his life, Josephine at Hampton Beach. Together, they spent many hours on the beach in the sun and the surf and dancing at the Casino. Married in 1955, they decided to build their house and raise their family right here in the Village. Throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed many activities, such as playing hockey, baseball, golf, tennis and pickle ball and going to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events. He would go to ‘The Mill’ several times a week to workout, play pickleball and socialize. Dennis made many great friends there. He also loved cruising through the Village in his convertible called the “The Red Bird”! Dennis and Jo enjoyed their retirement years in sunny Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
Dennis was a ‘cup half full’ type of guy and always happy to lend a helping hand to organizations and projects around town. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
