Eleanor "Ellie" T. (Robbins) Van Landeghem, age 83, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at her home in Westford after a brief illness surrounded by her children. She was the wife of Charles Van Landeghem. She was born in Wakefield on November 30, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Cotreau) Robbins. Ellie resided in Westford for the past fifty five years and was a communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish. Earlier in her life, she worked in the financial district in Boston for several years. Ellie left her career to devote her time to raising her three children and to volunteer with many activities in the town of Westford. She was a Brownie Leader for Troop #499 and a volunteer for the Girl Scouts, she was a volunteer librarian with the Cameron School for many years and also worked the voting polls at the Robinson School for many years. In her free time, Ellie loved to bowl and belonged to several leagues in he area. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister, knitting, reading, and making puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Ellie is survived by her three children, Stephen Van Landeghem of N. Chelmsford, Sandra Gauthier of Concord, NH and Carol Bonito of Chelmsford; a son-in-law, Nelson Bonito of New Mexico; a sister, Agnes Glidden of N. Chelmsford; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Mary Robbins of Center Barnstead, NH; five grandchildren, Nicolas, Shane and Lea Van Landeghem, Kelly Hayward and Kalene Gauthier; also four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward Robbins.Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. Healy Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 4, from 4 until 8pm. Her Funeral will take place on Thursday morning from the Funeral Home at 10 o'clock followed by a graveside service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westford at 11:30am. Interment to follow.Those who wish may make contributions in Ellie's memory to the VNA Hospice of Greater Lowell, 336 Central St., Lowell, MA 01852.
