Evelyn M. Welch

Evelyn M. (Nystrom) Welch, 95, a long-time resident of Westford, died on Thursday, May 4, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Welch, Sr., until his passing in 2004.

She was born in Westford on April 21, 1928, a daughter of the late Helena G. (Merrill) and Arthur R. Nystrom.

Evelyn valued her family more than anything else in her life and cherished being in the company of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being in the comfort of her own home, where she enjoyed doing puzzles and watching all the Boston sports teams on the television.

Evelyn is survived and will be deeply missed by her five children, Tricia Barry and her husband Jim of Boynton Beach, FL, Dot Beauregard and her husband Stephen of Litchfield, NH, Jim Welch of Dunstable, Rick Welch and his wife Christie of High Springs, FL and Bob Welch and his wife Sandy of Amherst, NH; her 15 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; her two daughter-in-law’s, Lori Welch and Hope Welch; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Jacques and her husband Pete; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the sister to the late Frederick Nystrom, Dorothy Upton and Charlotte Andruskiewicz.

Relatives and friends are invited to Evelyn’s Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4 PM until 8 PM at the WESTFORD HEALY FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main Street, Westford. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10 AM at Blessed Trinity Parish - St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Westford.
