George W. Hodgman

George W. Hodgman, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 surrounded by his family.

He was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Metzler) Hodgman with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a lifetime with love, laughter and family.

He was born in Concord, MA on May 1, 1935 and was a son of the late Nellie (Duran) and Roy Hodgman.

George dedicated 40 years of his career to Raytheon Technologies as a Mechanical Engineer. He was known for his hard work, skill and quiet dedication. Outside of work he was a man of many talents. He found great joy in gardening, woodworking and spent countless hours perfecting the intricate model train set he proudly built by hand.

George was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Westford, DeMolay and the Mason’s, all of which he took great pride in. He also served his country as a member of the National Guard.

In addition to his wife Marjorie, George is survived by his children, Cheryl Hodgman of Clinton, MA, William Hodgman and his wife, Stacey of Mashpee, MA and Brenda Hurd and her husband, Bill of South Windsor, CT. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Timothy Hodgman and his wife, Rachel, Jayme DeOliveira and her husband, Joe, Jenna Feely and her husband, David, Danielle McCormick and her husband, Eben, Jonathan Hodgman and his wife, Melissa, Brian Feely and his wife, Maura, Meagan Stantial and her husband, John, Julia Hurd and her fiancé, Connor and Lindsey Hurd; his 15 great-grandchildren, Ella, Max, Colton, Sadie, Thomas, Jackson, Lincoln, Emmett, Addison, Aidan, Henry, Lily, Stella, Ellie and Dallas; as well as many other extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother, Roy Hodgman and his sister, Barbara Patton.

Relatives and friends are invited to George’s memorial service on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11 AM at the UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF WESTFORD, 10 Church Street, Westford. Burial will be private. A luncheon will immediately follow in the church’s hall that all are invited to attend.
