Gertrude K. Snyer, 90, of Bedford, MA. passed on to our Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2026 after a short hospitalization.
Trudy was born in Arlington, MA, on November 22, 1935, and was the daughter of the late John and Nora (Travers) Snyer. Trudy grew up in Bedford and graduated from Concord High School in 1953. She studied business and worked as an accountant throughout her career. She retired from Arkwright Boston Insurance Company after more than 40 years of service.
Trudy lived a joyous life. She enjoyed sports; bowling, golf, snow skiing, and even took up ice dancing as an adult. Trudy was a talented artist. She worked with all forms of arts and crafts, cake decorating, pottery and painting. The family cherishes her beautiful needlework pieces.
Trudy loved her family and made many memories with her parents, friends and family at her home in Hampton, NH. When she retired to Hampton, she joined the choir at St. Theresa’s Parish in Rye, NH. She traveled far and wide throughout her life from Belgium to Paris, Russia, Canada and across the United States. Trudy truly led a wonderful life.
Trudy leaves her sister-in-law, Ann Marie Snyer; her niece, Kristyn McKenna and her husband, William and their children and grandchildren; her nephew, John B. Snyer, III, his wife Lesley, and their children John, IV and Michael, and many extended family members. She was predeceased by her brother, John B. Snyer.
Trudy and her family give special thanks to her caregiver of seven years, Colleen Galvin.
Relatives and friends are invited to Trudy’s Visitation on Friday morning, February 27, from 10:15 AM until 10:45 AM at St. Camillus Church, 1185 Concord Turnpike, Arlington. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Shawsheen Cemetery, 15 Shawsheen Road, Bedford. For those who wish, donations in her name may be made to MSPCA at Nevin’s Farm at mspca.org
