WESTFORD -- Janice M. (Reeves) Deveny, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. For forty two years, she was the beloved wife of James R. Deveny Sr.
Janice was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than watching her kids play sports and spending time with her family. She adored her husband and enjoyed their times visiting the beach and traveling to Lake Winnipesaukee. When you needed a weather report, she was the one to ask. She loved the hunt for a good yard sale and a good deal.
She was born in Lowell on May 7, 1949, a daughter of the late Alfred and Sally (Kidawolski) Reeves. Janice was a lifelong resident of Westford and received her education through Westford schools. She graduated from Westford Academy, class of 1967, and went on to further her education at the University of Lowell.
Janice was a communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish where she volunteered her time with the accounting ministry for the parish. She was also a member of the Cameron Senior Center in Westford.
Besides her husband Jim, she is survived by her children, Jim Deveny, Jr. and his spouse, Pam of Townsend and Jessalyn Deveny - McNamar and her spouse, Amanda McNamar of N. Andover; two brothers, Alfred Reeves and his wife, Karen Henkel - Reeves of Ocala, FL and Don Reeves and his wife, Betty of Hudson, NH; three grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Deveny and Zoe Deveny - McNamar. Also many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning, Oct. 29 at 11 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment to follow at St. Catherine Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 10 Speen St., 2nd floor, Framingham, MA 01701.
