TYNGSBORO - Marie A. (Harbin) Mockler, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 2, 2016 at UF Health Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. She was born in Dunmore, PA on May 12, 1931, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Kostelnik) Harbin. She was a graduate of Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Marie was a resident of Tyngsboro for the past fifteen years and was formerly of Burke, VA. Prior to that she resided in Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania and Boca Raton, Florida. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Westford. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as the assistant to the director at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland for ten years. She was an active member of The Church of the Nativity in Burke, Virginia teaching CCD classes. Marie greatly enjoyed her many outings and trips with the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed reading and travelling, especially cruising. She spent 11 days in April on a Carribean cruise with her best friend of 55 years, Marlene. Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Over the past 15 years she became affectionately known as “Nan” to so many in Westford. She remained extremely active spending time with her grandchildren and their friends. She is survived by two children, Kathy Mockler and her husband Richard Harris of Westford, and Robert Mockler and his wife Sandy of Philadelphia, PA; three grandchildren, Shannon, Ben and Lindsay Harris, all of Westford; her former husband, Verne Mockler of Ft. Meyers, FL. She was the sister of the late Jerry Harbin and sister-in-law of the late Mim Harbin. ARRANGEMENTS - Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD on Friday, May 13 from 4 until 7 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St Catherine’s Youth Missions, attn. Ron Cajolet .
