Marion (Gruber) Clough

Marion I. (Gruber) Clough, 78, a resident of Westford, MA passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021. She was born in Boston, MA to the late Stella (Adler) and Emil Gruber on May 23, 1942. Marion's parents were citizens of Austria and came to America to escape the advance of Hitler.

Marion graduated from Waltham High School in 1959. She then attended and graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. About this time, Marion met the love of her life (and future husband), Ken Clough. Marion and Ken found each other while working for the same company, which was Brown Company in Boston. Marion spent some early years as an Executive Secretary at Raytheon. They were married in West Roxbury on October 6, 1962. They started their family while living in Waltham and Belmont. In 1967, they moved to Westford.

With her two daughters in school, Marion began working as a secretary at Westford Academy. She handled the administrative duties for the school's House Masters, as well as the Guidance Department and Athletic Department. Marion worked at the Academy for over 30 years where she provided a helpful smile to students, faculty and parents.

Marion and her husband enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and the west coast. In the latter years, she enjoyed trips to Foxwoods.

Marion is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Ken Clough of Westford; two daughters, Lisa Clough of Hudson, NH and Kris Bettencourt and her fiancé, Allan Goodwin of Nashua, NH. She is also survived by her brother, Steven Gruber and his wife, Grace, of Waltham, MA; a sister-in-law, Maureen Clough of Milford, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private burial was held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westford. A celebration of life will take place in the future.
