FORGE VILLAGE, MA -- Mary Page (Lord) Cote, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at her home in Forge Village following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Hervey J. Cote who passed away in 2002.

She was born in Forge Village on September 17, 1924, a daughter of the late David and Mary (Kelly) Lord. Mary was a lifelong resident of Forge Village where she was a very active communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish.

She received her education through Westford schools, having graduated from Westford Academy, Class of 1942. Mary started her career as a clerk at Abbot Worsted where she worked for 10 years. After marrying her husband Hervey on October 3rd, 1953, they owned and operated Cote's Service Station in Forge Village for many years.

Mary was very active in the Westford community. She was a member and past secretary of the Golden Age Club where she participated in many fundraisers. She was also a committee member of the Friends of Cameron Senior Center and worked the voting polls where she also served as warden. Earlier in her life, she loved swimming and was a member of the Abbot Worsted Band. Mary enjoyed shopping, nature and her birds. She loved trips with the Golden Age Club to the Beacon in Lincoln, NH and was also a member of Mario's breakfast club.

She is survived by a son, Hervey P. Cote of Forge Village; three grandchildren, Jocelyn, Marguerite and Vanessa Cote, all of Forge Village; a sister-in-law, Theresa Lord of Forge Village; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends including Heather LaBrecque, Nancy Melbourne and Mickey Crocker, all of Forge Village and Beatrice Farley of Salisbury. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Dimond, Frances House, David, John, Robert and Philip Lord and dear friend of the late Jeannette Gingras.

Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD on Sunday, April 6 from 3 until 7pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Westford. Interment to follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
