Mary (Coffey) Daly, 95, of Westford, MA passed away at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley on Monday, July 2, 2012. Mary lived the majority of her life in Westford. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Cora Coffey and the wife of the late Victor B. Daly. Mary attended the Westford School System, later working at the Abbot Worsted Mill and Murray Printing in Forge Village. In retirement, Mary participated in the Foster Grandparent Program as a teacher's aide at Cameron School and Robinson School. She truly enjoyed working with children. Mary was widowed at 51, had her two daughters living at home and had no driver's license. She became independent, acquired her license, went back to work and adjusted to being a single parent. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting and crocheting. Many new parents received one of her handmade knitted items (hats, mittens and sweaters). She also crocheted over 50 afghans which she gifted as well. Mary lived a simple life, always focusing on her family. To the end, her mind never failed. We will miss listening to her tell Village stories. Mary was predeceased by her father, mother and sister Ruth, her husband Victor and two children, Paul and Mary Ellen. She leaves behind three children, Victor Daly and his wife Grace, Jean Zakos and her husband Jim, Joan O'Leary and her husband Bruce. Six grandchildren, Brendan Daly, Joel Daly and his wife Michele, Heather Daly, Justin Swanson, Darren Swanson, Alex Zakos and a great-grandson Ryan Daly along with many nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the J.A. Healy Sons Funeral Home on July 6 from 5 to 8 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass, July 7 at 10 AM at Saint Catherine's Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford, MA.
