Mary Grace Fitzgerald

May 24, 1928 — February 27, 2023

Westford

Mary Grace (O’Malley) Fitzgerald, age 94, passed away on February 27, 2023 at the Legacy Care Assisted Living Memory Care in Chelmsford, MA. She was predeceased by her husband Barry Fitzgerald and son John who passed away on February 10, 2023.

Grace grew up in Dorchester, where she met her future husband Barry who was her life- long companion and shared her passion for family, golf and travel. She lived in Westfield, MA, Hoffman Estates, IL and then Madison, CT for the last 41 years and moved to Chelmsford, MA in 2022 to be closer to her daughter and family. Grace was very involved in her Catholic faith and various charitable organizations with her church. She led a full and active life, had many friends and touched so many people throughout her life.

Grace’s five children live in five different states, four of them a plane ride away. We fondly remember the fun times each summer when all her grandchildren would come to Madison for a week at the beach. The grandchildren set up their dormitory in the living room with some on couches and the rest lined up on the floor. This was a special time for our family as even though we are in different states these are memories she held close to her heart as well as our family will always share.

She is survived by her, her son Tommy and his wife Shelly Fitzgerald of Plano, TX; daughter-in-law Barbara Fitzgerald of Grant, FL; daughter Donna and husband Stephen Powell of Westford, MA; daughter Karen and husband Barry Prescott of Santa Barbara, CA and daughter Mary Fitzgerald and husband Stuart Robinette of Roswell, GA and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Grace will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend to so many.
