Michael Anthony “Lou” McNayr, 67, of Londonderry, NH passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He was the husband of the late Debra (Morin) McNayr.
He was born in Lowell on January 1, 1959, the son of the late Pauline L. (Milot) Curtis. Michael was educated in the Westford Public Schools and graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School. He worked at New England Fence Co. for many years until it was sold. He later worked at Communication Technology Services, LLC as a technician, and as a bartender at the Westford VFW.
Michael was a loyal and sincere friend. Once you were his friend, you were a friend for life. He was generous by nature. Along with his friend David Crocker, they established the “Girlfriend Helping Hand Raffle.” They held a raffle which raised money to be given to a deserving friend in need. Through their dedication and a lot of help from his sister Sandy and many friends, this became a VFW tradition for the last 10 years.
He was an avid sports fan and loved playing golf and enjoyed watching sports on television with his friends and family. He was able to enjoy several once in a life-time cruises with his in-laws that included Hawaii, Alaska, and Panama.
Michael is survived by his siblings, Debra McNayr of Centerville, Cindy Bennett and her husband Al, Sandy Cantin, Nicole Curtis, all of Westford and Christopher Curtis and his fiance, Jen of Groton; his sister-in-law, Stacey McNayr; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father, Freeman McNayr; his step father, Max Curtis; his brother, Randy T. McNayr; his pepe and memere, Antonio and Bernadette Milot; his great uncle Armand (CY) Giard; and many lifelong and very special friends.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Michael’s brother-in-law, Stephen Morin. He stepped up for Michael after his wife passed and his patience, friendship, support and connection to Michael is a blessing that will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to Michael’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 9 AM at BLESSED TRINITY PARISH - ST. CATHERINE OF ALEXANDRIA CHURCH, 107 North Main Street, Westford, MA. Burial will be held privately in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
