Micheline (Perpoil) Joris

Micheline (Perpoil) Joris, a resident of Westford, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at her residence.

Born in France on June 18, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Maxime and Genevieve Perpoil.

Micheline was raised near Paris. She studied English in school and did an internship in London to further her proficiency. When she returned, she lived in Paris and took an administrative position with the French National Railroad Company, where she worked for many years. In 1960 she had the opportunity to work in New York, teaching French as a governess. There she met her now late ex-husband George Joris and she lived in New Jersey for nearly 40 years. In 2001 she moved to Massachusetts to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Her interests included gardening, bridge, reading and investing.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne Joris and Noah Beerman of Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Adrienne Laboe and her husband Gregory of Georgia, Julia and Danielle Beerman of Massachusetts; a sister, Francoise Dreyfus of France; a half-brother, Dominique Perpoil of France; several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES - Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, January 25, from 10 until 11 AM at the J.A. Healy Sons Funeral Home, 57 N. Main Street. Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM in the Funeral Home followed by burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford.
