Muriel M. (Duffy) Lacerte, age 92, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Genesis Westford House after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. "Jack" Lacerte who passed away in 1987. She was born in Lowell on June 1, 1921, a daughter of the late James and Frances (Riney) Duffy and sister to the late Barbara E. Duffy. For the past four years, Muriel was a resident of Chelmsford Crossings and was formerly of Nashua and Lowell for many years. She attended Keith Hall in Lowell and completed a two year program at a Lowell business school. Earlier in her life, Muriel was a member of the St. Rita's Cadets. She enjoyed spending her summers at Hampton Beach. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the volunteer and admitting offices at Lowell General Hospital for over twenty years and was also a member and volunteer with the Lowell General Hospital Auxiliary. Muriel was the mother of the late Janice Long and is survived by her daughter, Ann Yoder and her husband Greg of Singapore and her son, Edward Lacerte and his wife Maureen of Westford; She also leaves her eight grandchildren, Stephanie Long of Albuquerque, NM, Greer and Bryce Yoder of Singapore, Devin Lacerte of Arlington, VA, Taylor Lacerte of Boston, Arianna Lacerte of New York City, Graham and Thea Lacerte, both of Westford; also several nieces and nephews. LACERTE -- Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St, WESTFORD, on Thursday, June 6, from 4 until 8pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. Healy Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6, from 4 until 8pm.Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
