Norma D. Uher

October 31, 1919 — January 24, 2014

WESTFORD -- Norma D. (Kimball) Uher, age 94, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Uher.

Norma was born in Worcester, Ma on October 31, 1919, a daughter of the late Edward M. and Vear A. (Whiteman) Kimball. She was a resident of Westford for over sixty six years and attended the First Parish Church United where she was a member of the Book and Thimble Club.

Prior to her retirement, Norma was employed as a receptionist with Dr. B. Philip Lee, DDS in Westford where she worked until the age of 79.

She had great knowledge of history and enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking and reading. Norma was well known in the town of Westford and famous for her homemade fudge that she made since the age of 15. She was a very positive and giving person, who would always put others before herself, especially around the holidays. She never missed an occasion, always sending greeting cards to her family and friends.

Norma is survived by her children, Nancy D. Stracke and her husband Michael J. of Millersville, MD, and Joel K. Uher and his wife Cheri E. of Wilton, CA; two grandchildren, Monica J. Nilsen and her husband Nils Kristian Berg Nilsen, III of Pasadena, MD and Kimberly A. Uher of Wilton, CA; a step great grandson, Nils Kristian Berg Nilsen, IV; also many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Newall E. Kimball, Phyllis S. Urbaniak and Barbara A. Kimball.

Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm. Her Funeral Service will take place on Friday afternoon at 12pm at First Parish Church United, 48 Main St., Westford. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westford Ambulance Fund, PO Box 197, Westford, MA 01886 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
