Theodore V. Godfroy

WESTFORD: Theodore V. "Ted" Godfroy, age 71, a resident of Westford for over 40 years, passed away at his home in Forge Village on Oct. 1, 2014 following a battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Mariane (Vincent) Godfroy, who passed away in 2000.

He was born in Lowell on April 19, 1943, son of the late Roland & Gabrielle (Belanger) Godfroy.

Following high school, Ted served in the US Navy. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the Town of Chelmsford as Superintendent of Public Buildings, for 11 years. He was a long time very active parishioner of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Westford. He participated in the church choir, Ministry of Hope, and the Cursillo Movement.

A devoted father and proud grandfather, Ted cherished his family and was actively involved with everyone's upbringing. As a proven leader in life, he always stressed the importance of and encouraged education.

He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Craig & Amy Godfroy of Sterling, Philip & Maggy Godfroy, and Andrew & Jennifer Godfroy, all of Westford; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph & Maureen Godfroy of VA; seven sisters-in-law, Liz, Frances, Betty, Priscille, Linda, and Rachel Godfroy, and Diane Holmes; nine grandchildren, Brianna, Corey, Kendra, Damon, Nicholas, Eric, Lily, Zachary and Ryan; also many nieces & nephews. He was brother of the late Leo, George, Raymond, Joseph "Fred", and Armand Godfroy.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives & friends are invited to his visitation on Sunday October 5, 2014 at the J.A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 NORTH MAIN ST., WESTFORD, MA from 3:00-7:00 PM. Funeral Monday morning with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, 107 North Main St., Westford. Interment to follow at St. Catherine Cemetery.
