William L. Brennen

Westford

William Lawrence Brennen of Westford, Massachusetts passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Emerson Hospital in Concord, with his wife by his side. He was 83 years old and was the beloved husband of Mary Lee (Barnes) Brennen for the past 52 years.

Born in East Orange, New Jersey on August 23, 1939, he was a son of the late Edgar and Margaret (Madden) Brennen. Bill was a graduate of Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, NJ. He went on to earn his Bachelor's degree of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as a 1st Lieutenant, stationed in Saigon during the Vietnam War as a transportation officer.

Following his honorable discharge Bill earned his Master's Degree of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson attending night school. He was employed by Braniff International of NY, Inflight Motion Pictures, Millipore Corporation of Bedford, Ionpure Water Technology and Siemens Water Technologies of Lowell. He and Mary Lee relocated to Westford 45 years ago.

Bill was an avid golfer and a long time member of Nabnasset Country Club. He was an excellent sailor and enjoyed his yearly sailing trips with his family on the Chesapeake Bay and through out New England. He enjoyed family ski trips to the Catskill Mountains and Vermont. Annual vacations on Lake Winnipesaukee with his grandchildren were the highlight of Papa’s Summers. Bill and Mary Lee took great trips during their years together, traveling to Hawaii, Bermuda, Paris, San Francisco/Red Wood Forest, Panama, and the Canadian Rockies. Bill was a nifty handyman and maintained his home and lawn with pride. A lover of nature he volunteered for Westford Conservation Trust.

In addition to his wife Mary Lee, he is survived by his son William Brennen, Jr. of Concord, NH, his daughter Courtney Brennen and son-in-law Erik Snyder of Center Harbor, NH; his grandchildren Benjamin Brennen and Liam Brennen of New Boston, NH, Elizabeth Brennen and fiancé Kaleb Phelps of Center Harbor, NH; his three brothers, Edgar Brennen of Oradell, NJ, Clifford Brennen of Naples, FL and St George, ME and Barry Brennen of Vero Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bill's Celebration of Life on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 4 until 8 PM in the Westford Healy Funeral Home, 57 North Main Street. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM in Blessed Trinity Parish - St. Catherine Church, 107 North Main St., Westford. Burial to immediately follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westford.
