William H. Stevenson, III, passed away unexpectedly at his Lowell residence on Monday, December 29, 2025. He was 65.
Born in Denville, New Jersey on September 21, 1960, Bill was the son of the late William H. Stevenson, Jr. and Jean E. (Davis) Stevenson.
Bill was an innate craftsman with a lifelong love of working with his hands. He was a talented silversmith and jewelry maker and took great pride in creating things of beauty and purpose. He was also employed for many years as a bartender at the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, where he met and connected with countless people traveling through the city.
An adventurer at heart, Bill helped outfit the schooner Fair Sarae and sailed her to the Bahamas, providing winter charters aboard. He was also an avid collector, finding joy and meaning in the stories behind the many things he gathered over the years.
Though quiet and reserved by nature, Bill was happiest when surrounded by family at cookouts and campfires. He was loving, caring, and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. A firm believer in giving back, Bill volunteered each Christmas season as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army.
Bill is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Donald Parsons of Westford; his nephew, Eric Parsons of Westford; and several cousins.
Bill's funera services will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM in St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 8 Kirk Street, Lowell. Burial will take place at a later date.
